There's this one thing that keeps bugging me time and time again. I really wish that David would be able to continue high school back home but even I know that's not possible. But I really want him to have his "normal" life back. It's just so sad to see. But I'm still happy for him. I'm rewatching last night's performance once again.

Ireally hope you enjoy yourself Archie and not let the media and what not to get to you. Go David!!!

um i was just wondering, does anyone know if there are going to be studio versions coming out of any of the songs that david sang on tues?

Regardless of any results, David Archuleta will have an amazing career,
and we'll make sure of that.
Even if he is not "the american idol",
to us, his fans, he will always be.

he is so talented and great he will do wonders no matter if he won a singing competition.

I wasn't able to watch the show live on TV because I have work. But I was able to check on the live blog. I couldn't start working unless I find out who the winner is (BTW i was so nervous during the whole thing). Then I saw this on the blog..."and the 2008 american idol is..... DAVID COOK!" i was like this can't be! Until now I am yet to accept the truth! Cook is good but Archuleta is GREAT! I loved him since day 1. His got the talent and most of all he has captured my heart (and everyone's Lil David, you are AWESOME! It's just a title. In my heart, YOU ARE THE TRUE AMERICAN IDOL! I will support you all the way! GO DAVID!!!

Definitely disappointing, but at least there are You Tube videos until Archie's CD comes out. Hopefully he knows how much he has given, and will continue to give to everyone, through his music.

He's still a winner even though he came 2nd.
It's because most of the people take it as a popularity competition and they voted for Cook because of that.
But American Idol is a singing competition, and if they judges were the ones to vote, I bet you that Archuleta would've won already long time ago.

David appreciate all the hard work we did for him as I watched the first interview after the announcement (utahfox.com). I sensed David as he was standing with DC that he knows what is about to happen, you all know we have that special connection with David, we can sense him well (was confirmed on his interview too). We have WON Angels, Tues. he was declared a new STAR is born, and that is more than enough the title of AI. We have to continue to walk with DJ on this new journey. He was proclaimed a STAR is born, therefore we need to make sure our STAR will reach the SUPERSTARDOM, and that is in our hands again (those little fingers that brought our David to the top). David said in the interview he wants his daily life connected with music, so he is shouting "I need you Angels", so we will oblige without hesitation. We all need to be happy and smile, David does not want us to be sad. Let's SMILE the way he does, so people know we are Archuletan's even without saying a word. CHEERS! Angels. He also said, we motivate him, so let's Cheer and let David know, we will be with him now and forever. We are life time true lovers of David Archuleta. For David, Thank you! You did more than enough for us. We love you.

waaaah!!! it was devastating, shocking and just I really don't know what to say... Yeah I cried and was depressed... good thing I saw Archie's smile so the frown in my face faded away in a snap!!! *breathes* gosh! I'm so happy i saw David's commercial. That made me really forget the sadness....

Okay, I'm just putting my two cents in right here.

For me, it felt like tonight wasn't even the official Finale. I had that gut feeling that Cook was gonna win, but when I look back on Archie's performance yesterday, I couldn't help but smile because that, for me, was his winning moment. I felt like yesterday was the Finale, and that he won that night.

Of course I still cried when they announced that Cook was the winner, but after a while I started to see a h3ll lot of silver lining. Hey, this might sound extremely (I mean extremely) corny, but Archie has given me such an inspiration, with how he looks at everything the positive way. I cried for him tonight, not because he wasn't the winner, but because how he stood up to all the crap that has been lashed out on him. I cried for him because he's finally living his dream with more freedom, and that he couldn't be happier anywhere else.

He just gives me this urge to be more positive about things, and I want to thank him so much for that. I look up to him now (sadly, on the real world I have to look down on him since I'm like, a giant...) as the biggest role model in the world. No other seventeen-year-old could match David Archuleta. No other seventeen-year-old could match his passion, his humbleness and his positive outlook on everything.

Okay, that was extremely corny now, I know, you're probably wanting to get rid of all the corniness I just said... but I just wanted to thank him for the things I've learned from him.

Even before tonight's finale, for me, David Archuleta has already won and will always be my winner.

I am disappointed that my little angel, David James Archuleta, did not win. I still have tears of anguish in my eyes.

But I will still buy David Cook's album. I respect him and liked how he and Archie were friends.

This is not the last we'll see of Archie........there's still the tour and eventually he will make a CD. And when we get married, you are all invited to come. :).

while I was watching the results my heart started pounding really fast and hard... so then ryan says your american idol 2008 is DAVID.... (long pause) and I stopped breathing!... and when he said COOK I fainted!
and woke up an hour later and started crying and haven't stopped ever since!.

I REALLY WANTED ARCHIE TO WIN!
but hey! maybe this wasnt meant to be for him... maybe god has better things in store for him!
I HOPE SO!.

When reading various sites all day of how Archie was a little behind Cook in the voting I was preparing myself. I had a feeling that 9pm-1am was not going to get all of Archie's voters. When I heard Time of My Life, a rocker song, was chosen for coronation, I prepared myself even more. When I heard Nygel in his radio interview with Ryan and the Davids point out Cook's tearful moment with his mom on the finale night, but how Archie really went out there to win, I really really prepared myself. But you know what, after hearing Cook's name called my heart just sank, my stomach felt ill, and I was in tears. Mind you I'm about to be 31 years old, who knew I could become such a fangirl for this kid. No amount of preparation could have prepared me for the emotions I was experiencing. But I looked at David and he seemed to expect this result, looking up to Cook with his big eyes and smile, and was at peace with this. Watching David's interview following the finale was so helpful to confirm this for me. I know our Archie is going to be okay. He has a bright future ahead of him, will have more freedom to find his niche, and continues to be such an inspiration. I am always going to try to look at the positive side of things as David would. He is already a winner!

Looking forward to more interviews and the tour. Go David! And congrats to Cook who is an amazing performer and has treated Archie with nothing but kindness. They sing really well together, loved Hero!

I loved it and thought it was absolutely amazing. I love how he changes around tiny bits of it to make it his own unique style, and it always sounds at its best. Amazing.

I'm still trying to make sense of what happened tonight... and I'm trying to find of reasons to be happy- I think I've found one. Out of all the people David could have come in 2nd to, I think David Cook was the best choice. After watching tons of interviews with both the Davids and just watching the two perform on stage, I see they both have tons of respect and admiration for one another. DC always likes to point our David out and give him the attention that is due. I can't say the same happened for previous winners/runner ups and out of all of this, I can say I think DC treated DA with kindness tonight and for that I'm glad :)

MAN!!Our lil' archie didn't win american idol!!What a bummer!!When I heard the results,I felt really heartbroken..The differnce between the votes are 12 million??!!This sucks!!
But,on the bright side,he is still a winner..in our heart he is still our lil' angel..He'll still make his own album and be legendary!!For a young man of 17,he'd accomplish lots of things!!
