Is anybody else here going to the show in Houston, Texas?

If you are, tell me! :]

By the way, my last post about this only got like, one response, so I'll post again.
Here's a diagram thing of the Toyota Center where the show's going to be:

I got row 19 and floor seats in Floor D.
From experience, or just from observing this diagram, did I get good seats? Like, good enough to see my David clearly? Or should I bring binoculars (seriously)?

Oh, and, stupid question, but what exactly are "Floor Seats"? By the way people talk about them, they're pretty sweet to get, but I don't understand... why are they called "Floor Seats"? Is it just because they're actually on the floor and not all high up? Or because instead of sitting, you stand...?
AHH, I feel ree-tuur-ded.

EDIT:
Oh, never mind. The Toyota Center is like, a basket ball court, but here's a picture of it all Concert-ed up:
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1297/880127...032c823.jpg?v=0
So I'm guessing floor seats are the seats down on the blue stuff.... yeah.
hazeleyd 71
That's too funny. You are 1 row in front of me! I'm in row 20 , floor section D. Don't feel bad. I feel kind of dumb too. This is my first year to go to an AI tour concert, and I have never even been to the Toyota Center! Maybe we can help each other. I'm Michelle by the way.

Ha, finally someone going to the Houston concert!
Oh, that's cool.
If I see you (if I even find out what you look like) I'll walk up and be like, "Hola hazeleyd 71... :D"
LOL.
hazeleyd 71
Hey trisaratops! it's Michelle again. We should definately run into each other at the concert. Did you get tickets for the taping on Fan Blast! They are free. It's a shout out to "Archie". They re gonna tape it so he can watch it after the tour. You have to get invited though. I am an older Arch Angel by the way. I'm 37. I will be at the concert with my husband and 2 kids. My kids are 8 and 14. The taping is from 8:00 am til 9. It should be really cool.

Whaaa?! A shout out to Archie? I've not heard of this yet...
Wait, how do we get "taped"? And how do we get invited? I've gotta be on that tape... :)
But if it's at 8 AM, that's like an automatic no-go from my mom.. since I live in Austin (2 1/2- 3 hours drive) and she's NOT getting up that early for me.
Oh, ha, I'm 16.
Lol, if I see someone in the row behind me with their husband and two kids, I'll be like, "Yo, that's the hazel person :D"
What seats are you in your row? Mine are seats 9 & 10.
hazeleyd 71
We are in row 20, seats 3-6 . That shout out to Archie taping is on Fanblast. You have to get there by 8am though. We are gonna get to the concert early, probably 11:00 so we can be there when they get off the tour bus. Hopefully I'll be able to see "Archie" and get his autograph. How about you? How early are ya'll gonna get there? Is it just you and your mom going?

Yeah, darn my mom wont drive me there for 8AM.
I mean, I haven't asked her, but she'll probably get annoyed with me just for asking.
So I'm not going to bother.
Yeah, I'm SO getting there by 11AM though. I don't have official meet and greet passes,
so getting there early is my only other option. But I've got to bug my mom about it,
because if I don't get to meet Archie, there's going to be problems...
Yeah, it's just me and my mom.
She's only seen one episode of American Idol, but I have to go with her instead of a friend
because she's the one who paid for both of our tickets. Haha, I even asked her, "Mom, do you even WANT to go? I mean, you're not really into American Idol..." and she was like, "No, I'll probably actually enjoy myself there."
She's only seen Archie perform on Idol once... and after the show was over, I went downstairs and she'd been watching it on the TV downstairs, and she was like, "That boy you like is a good looking kid." And I was like, "YEAH, I KNOWWWWW!"
(That story was really pointless.)
hazeleyd 71
Ha! Ha! that too funny. Your mom is secretly obsessed with Archie like the rest of us. My husband likes him, but not like me! He probably thinks i'm a little nuts, but that's ok, cuz Archie tends to do that to a lot of people. I've heard there are a lot of us older Archie fans.(For diferent reasons of course.) We are planning on getting to the concert early also, probably around 10:30, or 11. I so want an autograph. What are you gonna wear to the concert? I got myself a white Arch Angels tee shirt , and my daughter a white tee shirt that says Team Archuleta with a teddy bear on it. I am also gonna wear my white silicone wristband that says Arch Angel.
triSARAHtops
Haha,
Archie's got some mojo :)
I think I'm going to wear some white skinny jeans (Not like, the loser type of skinny jeans that stop right at your ankles. I hate those. Mine are like... well, I don't know how to explain them, but I like them.) And I don't know what shirt... I have to keep looking, but I can't make one because I'm not a very creative person. And I have like, 2 pairs of shoes from Creative Recreation. They sell some really funky shoes there. Actually, that's where Archie gets his shoes from (like the shoes he wore when he sang Think of Me and the shoes he wore in the top 5 Ford Commercial etc.) So I'll probably wear one of those. Yeah, I REALLY want an autograph too. But I have to like really hide a ton of my excitement from my mom because she has no clue how obsessed I am with Archie. My brother and sister do though (but they like David Cook, but never actually voted, and they're not coming to the concert with me and my mom). So, once I get there I've gotta be like *simma down* and just go get the autographs, or my mom will laugh at me, lol. And I'll probably go to that online store they have on this website also, and get some of those David buttons that I can like, clip onto my shirt and stuff.
Sooooo yeah :)
So, if I see someone that looks like you, it'll probably be you... haha :D
hazeleyd 71
That's cool. I went to cafepress.com for my shirts. They have a lot to chose from if you want to check it out. i think my husband and my son like David Cook too. There's nothing wrong with that . Your shoes sound really cool. I've never heard of Creative Recreation. Maybe I'll check it out. I Archie shops there it's gotta be good. I'm sure you'll be able to spot me in a crowd, with the family and all.
triSARAHtops
Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that cafepress.com website...
Yeah, I think I'll look at it.
hazeleyd 71
You should definately check it out. The have quite a lot to choose from. Did you get you a wristband to wear? You can go to wristbands now.com for that.
pol
hey guys
im not going to the houston concert but i live in san antonio
i soooo wanted to go but my parents wont drive me four hours just for a concert. : (
it sucks that he's gonna be kinda close to me and i cant be there
i know, kinda pointless reply since im not gonna go but have fun!!!
hazeleyd 71
Aww, I wish you could go too. Any chance of your parents changing their mind? I'm a mom , and I would take my kids to the concert even if it is 4 hours away. I am taking my 2 kids, and my husband. We live about an hour and a half away. We're going to spend the night downtown the night before.
triSARAHtops
Yep :)
I'm going to order one.

Awe. That stinks.
Do you think it's possible that she'll change her mind if you keep asking her and tell her how much it would mean to you? And if you've never been to a concert before or something, you could explain that this is an awesome deal because first off, you realllly want to see the Idols perform, second off you've never actually been to a concert before (that is if you haven't) and third off a concert that would cost like, $75 for a ticket to see one person perform makes this concert better, because you get to see 10 people perform for $75.
hazeleyd 71
That's a good way to look at it. I never thought of it that way. Of course we know who we really want to see though. I would have paid 75.00 just to see "Archie".

Lol, yeah, I would've paid $75 just to see Archie too.
But, I'm still excited to see like Michael and Cook and Carly and stuff.
Mostly Archie though :)
hazeleyd 71
Me too. I liked all the idols this year. They are all pretty talented in their own way. None of them compare to Archie though! I'm sure it won't be a boring show. I wish August would hurry up and get here already. You probably don't because I'm sure your not ready to go back to school yet. I remember those days too.
triSARAHtops
Yeah, they are. :)
I actually don't really mind because starting in July I have to be at my school every day anyways by like 7:30/8:00AM-4:00PM because I'm in marching band and we have to practice our halftime show and marching and stuff (especially since there's going to be new freshmen and they probably forgot everything from their Fish Camp when we taught them the basics of marching and playing at the same time and stuff). Which pretty much stinks because it's going to be SO hot outside, and I have to carry a heavy instrument. But on the plus side, I'll be REALLY tan when I go see Archie from being outside everyday in the hoooot sun for about a month and a half. Haha.
hazeleyd 71
Ha Ha! My son is going to be a freshman this year. He's also going to be in marching band LOL. He plays the trumpet. I think they start their summer band at the end of July, or the first week of August. I feel so sorry for ya'll out in that heat all day. I'm sure you're probably used to it though.
triSARAHtops
Coooool :)
Yeah, I guess I'm pretty used to it by now.
Which high school is he going to? Do you know if they have any videos on youtube? (Of the band)
Has he already had some type of camp where he learns somewhat how to march?
When I was in 8th grade, I thought it would be easy. It's harder than it looks though.
And you get really sore until you get used to it, but you build the muscle.
:)
hazeleyd 71
He will be going to Waller High School. I don't think he can even begin to realize how exhausted he is gonna be. His cousin is going to be a junior this year. I think she's been a big help to him. He knows nothing about marching yet. Their summer fish -band camp starts the last week of July. He then has to go to summer band for 3 weeks in August. School starts August 25th for my kids. AKA the day after the concert. Their gonna be so grumpy that morning. It's all worth it though to see Archie! I can't wait to see him on the View tomorrow morning. I have to be at work at 1:00 though . I work in a grocery store. Have you ever heard of Brookshire Bros? I"m an office manager, and store trainer. I work in Bellville. I'm always talking about Archie at work, and driving everone crazy there too. One girl that I work with is 17, and she loves David Archuleta too. We always talk about him. I even made her an Archie CD of all of his songs from AI.
triSARAHtops
Yeah, it's pretty tiring.
But it keeps you in shape :)
All the band kids have the best legs in the school, I swear. That might be kinda weird for your son to think about though :/.
Ha. I've never actually heard of that store before. I live in Austin (Round Rock). So I don't actually know where Waller is. I just looked on youtube for Waller High School Band. There's nothing :/.
Thank goodness my school starts on the 26th, or I wouldn't have been able to go to the concert! :( That wouldn't be good.
I've got to look up the schedule and channel for The View. I've never heard of it... I don't think at least.
Btw, you said you were getting to the concert early to look for the tour buses, right? I'm scared that I wont be able to find them.
hazeleyd 71
There is link on here somewhere where they show a picture of the tour busses. I'm sure we will be able to find them. I will try to find it. The View is on at 10:00 am our time on channel 13. Ok, I found the thead. Go to the next page and look for the topic, "Questions About The Tour". Go down to Blake and David93. Their is a link about the tour busses, and there is a picture of the tour bus. It's big and grey so I"m sure we'll be able to find it.
triSARAHtops
Alright, thanks.
I sleept too late and missed the show.
hazeleyd 71
Aww, I'm sorry you missed the show. I'm sure it's up on youtube now. I know it was onRickey.org earlier. I just got home from work. I would have replied sooner.
triSARAHtops
Yeah, I watched it on youtube :)
Btw, another girl on here sent me a message saying she was going to the Houston concert too. So she might come into this topic or something...
So yeah, lol.
hazeleyd 71
That would be cool. the more people the better. Maybe we can all meet up by the tour busses that morning.
triSARAHtops
Lol.
Yeah, we should since everyone else on here going to the same concert (Houston is like, the only one hardly anyone from here is going to) are doing. I've still gotta ask my mom about that. I'm going to ask her like, two weeks before the concert though, because if I ask her now, she'll be like, "Sarah, it's in like a month and a half! Don't worry about it right now." And I'll be like, "Sheeeeeeesh, okay!".
And I have to be able to find the tour buses. I'm still crossing my fingers. But I'll try try try! I don't wanna look like a loser going around asking everyone for help! D:
But I saw the picture you told me to look at, so I know what it looks like... then again, if I see a massive bus, it's probably them anyways. Haha.
Ahhhh, I'm so excited! I didn't think I'd actually get to go to the concert! This year is like, the only year that I've actually payed close attention to American Idol too.
:)
hazeleyd 71
Cool. Maybe alot of people not going to the Houston concert could work to our advantage. It will be easier for us if their isn't such a huge crowd around by the tour busses. Ha! Ha! Yeah right . I'm sure it will be extremely crowded. We definately need to get their early. If you can. We need to meet Archie and get that autograph! "dang it"! I know on the idol forums there is a Houston thread, and not a lot of people have responded to that one either. A few have though. They were talking about having some kind of tailgating party or something like that.
triSARAHtops
Lol, yeah :)
I hope it's super crowded actually... so they can be like, "Yeah, Houston rocks!" instead of, "Wow.... loser Houston...." And if there's a lot of people, the screaming will be really loud, and my mom wont be able to hear my screaming over everyone else's :)
Yesss! We defiantly need Archie's autograph :)
Oh, yeah I was talking in that American Idol Houston forum thing. I'm not planning on meeting them. I'd just feel weird and awkward...
hazeleyd 71
I hear ya! I know there will be a big turn out for the Houston concert. We definately should not take that for granted. I'm a little freaked out about getting there early too. I just don't know what to expect. I'm not a shy person, but If I don't know where to go, or what to expect, i tend to be a little shy. I'll feel dumb too. I'm willing to take that risk to meet Archie though. All of this is new to me. This is the first year I've even been on the internet. , in forums, meeting people, posting comments. I'm so computer iliterate it's not even funny! I even got a myspace so I could add Archie as a friend. I bet there are alot of Arch Angels that don't even get on the internet.
triSARAHtops
Ha, yeah.
I guess I'm pretty Internet-experienced since I've had AIM since I was in like, 5th grade. Haha.
Btw, I don't know if I worded it wrong, but when I said, "I'm not planning on meeting them..." I didn't mean I wasn't planning on meeting the Idols, because I am, I meant I wasn't planning on meeting the people off the American Idol Forums, even though the lady said she'd write my screen name on a poster, I just said, "Haha, okay." But I'm totally not going to go looking for them. That would just be weird. Ha.
I keep going to the Toyota Center website just to see if I had waited this long, what seats would I have gotten, and there's still seats left everyday. I want it to be sold out already! I heard Utah sold out in like 10 minutes. But I guess quite a few people will purchase tickets the day of the show. I'm hoping...
Yeah, I'm kinda nervous going early too. I'm always really shy, so I'll be shy no matter what.
Like when I go to get autographs, I wont know what to say besides, "Uh... can you uh... sign this... please."
I mean, I wouldn't actually say that.. that'd just be rude, haha. But, I don't know...

hazeleyd 71
I knew what you meant. I know you want to meet the idols. I've been to the toyota center website too, but the tickets they have left aren't that great. I also think that do to the fact that you can't buy them through ticketmaster is throwing a lot of people off too. I'm sure there will be plenty of people there. We know why they sold out in Utah so.. fast, hello Archie's hometown. I'm kind of glad Houston didn't sell out in 10 minutes, or we might not have gotten floor seats, or any seats for that matter. I bought my tickets through the poptarts website pre-sale how about you? I got mine the secon day of the presale. I waited because I thought the presale was only through ticketmaster so I was kind of upset that I did wait. I probably would have gotten better tickets if I had known we could get the presale tickets through the toyota center.
triSARAHtops
I bought mine through the poptarts thing too.
I don't remember if I did the pre-sale or not...
I could've gotten better seats too because I didn't actually convince my mom to drive me all the way to Houston in time for when the tickets started selling, but just because I wanted to see what tickets I could get, I went to the Toyota Center website, and it was something in Floor B which I think is right in front of the stage. SO then like, the next day in the car I convinced my mom and I got to the computer and saw the seats and I was like, "Mom, hurry get your credit card!" (because we only had a limited amount of time to buy the seats before they went away to someone else.)
So yeah. I have to pay my mom back for my ticket though...
hazeleyd 71
I had to buy 4 of them . It cost me $330.00 ! Pretty steep, but i'm sure it will be worth it. Sorry it took me so long to reply. I just got home from work. I was checking out my myspace first. I was reading David's new blog. Do you have a myspace? Go to fan blast and they have 17 questions that Archie answered for Seventeen Magazine. Some of them are pretty interesting, and very entertaining. He said in his blog, they were fixing to board the bus for the tour. August will be here before we know it. I'm so excited for David, and all of the top 10. I can't wait to hear about their first stop in Gledale AZ. Maybe we'll learn some facts about the tour like where we can meet the idols before the concert, and little tid bits to help us out some so we're not so clueless. On to another subject, are you watching So You Think You Can Dance? I like that show a lot. It helps to fill the idol void some what. I loved Chelsey Hightower, and Marc's hip hop routine! They danced to Bleeding Love, and it was awesome. Plus Archie really likes that song too. It's funny how the smallest things remind me of him. I have so... much ODD it's ridiculous.
triSARAHtops
Dang. $330 is a lot. For me and my mom it only cost like, $130.
Yeah. Not being the very first concert will be a big help :)
Nah. I don't watch that show. Everyone on here seems to though, hah.
I watch America's Best Dance Crew though, produced by Randy Jackson.
I like that show :)
Oh, and yeah I have myspace.
Ohhh, yeah I saw that Seventeen Magazine thinggy :D
I love Subway too. It's good.
hazeleyd 71
I haven't watched that one either. I 'm sure it's pretty good though. I'm such a TV junkie. Did you get to see that article on fanblast from seventeen magazine?
triSARAHtops
Yep :)
David loves Subway like me... I think it's a sign :D
(I wish)

Yep.
hazeleyd 71
I like subway too. Hey if you go to Jason Castro's myspace there is a good picture of the tour bus if you haven't seen it. This will definately help us out. I f you want, you can add me as a friend on myspace. I'd like to add you too if you want. I don't want you to think I'm a creepy older internet stalker or anthing, I'm so not. I just enjoy talking with people who love Archie as much as me. My picture is on my myspace so you can see what I look like and have a good laugh. I need to put more pictures of my family on there. Wait til you see my background. I bet you can't guess what my layout looks like?
triSARAHtops
Yep :)
I looked at the pictures today.
Sure. My profile is under construction right now, so I don't have an "add" button, so if you give me the link to your myspace, I'll add you.
Haha... hmm, Archie?
Lol.
hazeleyd 71
How'd you guess? Ha Ha! The link is the same as my screen name . myspace.com/hazeleyd71. I do have a picture of me and my daughter on there. I'll have some more family pictures by tomorrow. Le me know what you think.
triSARAHtops
Alrighty. I'll add you when I get on a little later.
:)
hazeleyd 71
Cool. I just got home. Me and my kids went shopping. I won't even tell ya how much money we spent today. We went to the new outlet mall in Cypress Texas. It's not very far from where I live. The have a Converse store so I bought me 2 pairs of sneakers. 1 pair was only 20.00. I got the other 1 for 50.00. I couldn't help myself. My son said "so your buying skater shoes huh"? I was like yeah, Archie wears them. They are actually pretty comfortable. Oh and I went back to cafepress.com and bought 4 more Archie shirts! I think I have a little problem don't you. I want anything and everything that is Archie related. One of the shirts I just bought says I'm an archaholic. That is so true. I found a shirt on there for your mom, it said "David, marry my daughter. " LOL! It had an outline of Archie's face. I thought it was cute. You should get that for her to wear ha!ha! Oh by the way, I uploaded some more pictures on my myspace.
triSARAHtops
Haha.
I wish my mom would spend some mula on me! She's a nurse and she's like, "I'm tight on money Sarah, jeez!" I'm not too sure how much money nurses make... but whatever. My dad's a Neurologist though, and he makes a butt load of money, but never spends it. I always try convincing him to get me something, but he's like, "Psh, yeah right, buy it yourself!" and I'm like, "But you never spend ANY money!" I don't know... he's a really good money saver I guess. But I'm not :(
But I get a $30 allowance every week. I get $10 automatically sent to my credit card every Sunday, and I baby sit for $5 a hour while my dad and his friends go do their marathon's+triathlon's (I wish I was that athletic, lol) on Saturdays. And they're usually gone for like, 4-5 hours... so I get like $20-$25 dollars...
Yeah. That was a pointless story.
Omg! That would be amazing if I could convince my mom to wear that shirt! Lol.
Yeah, I looked at that cafepress.com website. They've got some good stuff on there :)
I'm probably going to buy something.
Oh, and I love Converse too :)
They are comfortable.
hazeleyd 71
My husband is a machinist, and I work in a grocery store, so we don't have a lot of money. I do get to splurge every now and then . I guess you could say I'm some what spoiled. You only live once though. When I was growing up, I did't have alot, and I had a crappy childhood; a long story, maybe for some other time. I 'm definately making up for that now. The same goes for my kids. I would never put them through what I had to go through. You are so lucky to have 2 loving parents. That's hard to come by these days. Never take that for granted! I think that's another reason I 'm so addicted to Archie. He is such a fantastic person and awesome role model for today's youth! Of course he is really cute, and sweet too., and wow that voice touches my soul!
jennyarchuleta
i really want to go.
because i used to live in houston, but now i live overseas.
and we're visiting over the summer
but i still wont be able to make it. argh.
hazeleyd 71
Aww, that's not cool. I wish you could go too.

If you're visiting over the summer, couldn't you squeeze in the tour before you leave?

Will you still be here over summer while the concert is in Houston?
Or will you have left by then?
:(

I added Jason Castro as a friend on myspace he's pretty funny, and he seems to have a lot of tour info.
