It's kind of too bad that the orchestra held David back from taking the song more towards the pop direction he wanted. I know a lot of people called that performance 'cheesy', and I think the orchestra, especially the string section, was a huge part of that. If they had kept the arrangement simpler and less theatrical - just acoustic guitar, percussion, and synth, maybe - the performance might have been received a little better. Just my opinion.

i think so! there was a rumor yesterday, said that David was gonna play guitar himself. I guess AI paid for the orchestra, they gotta use it...
