Hi I'm pretty new here but I've been writing FFs for a while. I first started with FFs about John Stevens ( Season 3 Top 6 )Then season 4 I wrote a lot of stories about Canthony( Carrie Underwood obviously the winner and Anthony Fedorov( 4th place) ) . Season 5 I started a fic about Will Makar ( Didn't make the top 12) but that didn't go very far. I took a break from AI fics and started to write FFs about Jesse McCartney ( 2005- 2007) . Late last year . I started to write fics about the Jonas Brothers I still do but this is an experiment on how well I do writing about David.

Now that I got that out of the way without further ado here's my fic “Singing the Lyrics Of Jealously"

Chapter 1

Delaney’s POV

I sat in my room waiting for our new neighbors to arrive.
I guess my dad had met them at the grocery store earlier that day. All I knew about them was that they had five kids and the second oldest was my age.
I lived my dad and my uncle. You might be wondering where my mom is. You see my parents are divorced but I see my mom very often.
Anyone lost, if so I will introduce myself before I continue.

I’m Delaney, I’m 11, about 5’0, with bright hazel eyes, light brown hair I can be shy when you first meet me but once you get to know me I’m pretty outgoing and chatty, I’m a pretty good listener whenever someone has a problem they can come to me, I’m sensitive, sweet, I can be sarcastic sometimes.

However, I digress I will continue the story.

As I said, I was in my room waiting for our new neighbors to arrive
“Delaney!”
“Yes?”
“Come out, our new neighbors are here”
“Coming”
“Delaney, this is Mr. & Mrs. Archuleta “
“Nice to meet you “
“You too”
A girl around 12 cleared her throat.
“This is our oldest Claudia, she’s 12”
“Nice to meet you ““You too”
I looked next to her to lock eyes with a boy around my age with beautiful hazel eyes.
“This is David, he’s your age “
“Nice to meet you “
“You too” he whispered shyly
“He’s a little shy,” Claudia, told me
“Oh, okay”
“This is Daniel, he’s 8”
“Nice to meet you Daniel”
“You too” he said cutely
“Where are you’re other two?” my dad asked
“Home , we left them with a babysitter”
“Oh, Delaney why don’t you take David to your room”

“Okay”
“Why don’t we go to the living room” said my dad leading Mr. & Mrs. Archuleta to the living room
“Follow me “
“Okay”
We walked to my room.

David’s POV

I walked out of Delaney’s room and walked home with my family.
“You get to see Delaney , again in three days"
“Yay!”
“You have a crush on her , don’t you?” my mom asked
“I just met her , mom”
“Still”
The day continued.
Three days later , we were on Delaney’s doorstep again.
“Come on in “ said Delaney’s dad
“Hey David”
“Hey Delaney” I smiled
“So , did you stay up last night?”
“I tried , but I fell asleep”
“Yeah, me too”
Before I could reply two kids walked up to Delaney.

She walked out of her room.

I walked to the kitchen to get the drinks.
“Did you offer David something to drink?” my dad asked
“Way ahead of you “

I got two Caprisuns and walked to my room.
“Thanks, Delaney “
“No problem , let me get the game “
“Okay”
I got the game and we started to play.
“David , its tine to go!” yelled Mrs. Archuleta
“Coming mom!”
“Bye David”
“Bye Delaney “ he smiled giving me a hug
“I’ll see you on Monday”
“Olay, bye”
“Bye”
He walked away.
“Hey Delaney, how do you feel about walking with David to the bus stop on Monday?”
“I would love that , does David know?”
“Lupe is going to ask him tonight “
“Okay”
“You two really hit it off , didn’t you ?”
“Yeah, we did”
A few minutes later, the phone rang.
“What does Delaney think ?” I heard Mrs. Archuleta ask
“She’s excited , what about David?”
“I don’t think he’s ever been this excited to go to school”
“Haha, our kids really hit it off”
“Yeah, they did “
The day continued.
I woke up on Monday in a great mood.
I quickly got dressed and ate breakfast.
“Hi Delaney “ said David
“Hey David “
“You better hurry up , kids the bus arrives in about 10 minutes and it takes five minutes to walk there,” said my dad “
“Bye dad” I said hugging him
“Bye Mr. Romero”
“Bye, kids”
We walked out of the house.
“Is this your first time you’ve walked to the bus stop?”
“Yeah, my dad won’t let me walk to it alone so he drops me off everyday at school”
“Why did he let you walk with me?”
“The obvious answer is that I’m not alone”
“Oh, right”
We continued walking to the bus stop.
“Hey Delaney !” yelled my friend Leah
“Hey Leah”
“Who’s this?”
“This is David , my new neighbor “

Before one of us could say something the bus pulled up and we got in.
David was behind me, one of the kids tripped him, and he fell on his face.
I rushed to his side and helped him up to see that his lip was bleeding.

I walked out of the room.

“Morning class” said our teacher Mrs. Penn with a fake smile

I was paying attention when I felt something hit my elbow .
I looked down to see a note
I opened it and it read :

No I don’t , he’s just my neighbor and friend

Then why were you holding his hand then

I was just showing him to his class

Uhh, sure

I was about to write back when Mrs. Penn grabbed it from me.

We walked back to class.
David sat with Leah and me and our other friends at lunch.
My friends really liked him.
“Delaney, what’s wrong?” David asked as we were walking home
“Nothing’s wrong “
“I have three sisters Delaney , I can tell when there’s something wrong with a girl”
“I can’t tell you “
“Okay”
After that he never asked again.
As the months continued, David and I became the best of friends . He told me his dreams of being a famous recording artist even though I had never heard him sing I still supported him. I told him my dreams and he supported me. I even convinced him to compete in the school talent show that was usually won by an 7th or 8th grader but not this year.
“You nervous, David?”
“A little but I’m pretty sure I’ll do well”
“How do you know that?”
“Its because I have you in the audience”
I was too young to know that he was flirting with me and he was too you know that he flirting with me.

“Okay, back to your seats” said the MC
I walked back to my seat with the Archuleta family.

All the 7th and 8th booed but that didn’t faze David he just stood there smiling
“Well, that’s the end of that thank you for coming” said the MC
I ran backstage and congratulated David.
“I won!”
“I know, congratulations”
“Thanks” he said pulling me into a hug
I slightly pulled away and looked up into his eyes they were dancing with excitement.
“I don’t think you deserved to win” I heard a snobby 8th grade girl say
“Stop being a sore loser” I shot back
“Aww, your girlfriend is defending you “
“She’s not my girlfriend , she’s my best friend” David informed her smiling
“You’re going to sorry when he becomes famous”
“Whatever” she scoffed as she walked away
“You really think I’m going to be famous?”
“Yeah, you were that good”
He blushed as we walked out to his parents.
“Congratulations, honey”
“Thanks mom”
We soon left the auditorium.
The days continued.
Later that summer, a little show called “American Idol” began to show on TV.
I guess somehow they found out that a very talented young singer named David Archuleta. So they asked David to sing for the Top 10 American Idols and of course I was going with him.

“Wow” we both exclaimed

David looked down at his feet embarrassed and said “ I’m okay”

“You too, now lets get to the tour”

She gave us the tour and we ended up running into a few more of the idols such as Tamyra Gray, Nikki Mckibbin & Justin Guarani.
“You ready to sing for us , David?”
“Yeah”
“What are you going to sing?”
“And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going”
“Wow, that’s a pretty hard song “
David started to sing and Kelly just stood there wide eyed.
“Wow, you ’re really great”

“Yeah, you’re going to be very successful “

He smiled slightly blushing.
The days continued.
The months continued and Kelly ended up becoming the 1st American Idol , David and I were so happy. About a year after that David competed on Star Search and won and I was so proud of him he was supposed to record an album after that but he caught bronchitis an suffered from vocal paralysis and we thought he never be able to sing again.
As the seasons continued , David and I agreed on some seasons but others we had different favorites. During the 3rd season, David told me he would audition for American Idol when he was old enough and of course I supported him and I would go with him to audition. During the 4th season, this is when David got his singing voice back.
But I digress, I’ll get back to the story
I sat in my last class of my junior year . I sat there thinking of David . The year we turned 15, I started to see him in a different light I no longer saw him as the little brother that I did when we first met I now saw him as a potential boyfriend.
The bell finally rang and I rushed out.

“Yeah” he agreed

We started to finger paint with Jazzy and Amber.
