Interview transcripts! (:

So what's this about?
Okay. So some people might not be able to view certain videos for various reasons. I live in Canada, and I can't view videos from MTV and americanidol.com (so I'm sorry if I can't do your request! sad.gif). Anyway, I decided to put up a thread where you guys can read the written interviews and even do a request for one.

Requesting
Yes, you can do a request if you want me to write down a certain interview you'd like to read. There will be a waiting list, of course, but I might do shorter ones first. Take note that writing these down are quite challenging, especially when Archie's talking a hundred miles a minute :P Obviously it's gonna take a longer time for me to write down longer interviews than shorter ones, so you just gotta bear with that, mkay? :)

Want to see a written interview? Reply to this thread or send me a message.

Links (oldest to newest)
(Actual videos are linked somewhere at the written interviews.)

DURING IDOL:AFTER IDOL:
AHEM. Since school is back (and I also have a job... gah), I'm afraid I won't be able to do your requests as fast. It may even take several weeks, I dunno. I'm just really going to focus on school for now, so I'm sorry about that. :\

uhh I don't get the joke either!!!
About dinner can you fill me in?

TV Guide with Erin Fox - PART ONE
[TV GUIDE VIDEO | YOUTUBE]

ERIN FOX (Staff Editor): I'm basically one of the luckiest girls in America right now because I'm sitting with the American Idol phenom David Archuleta. I can actually hear millions of girls screaming as we speak. [David chuckles] Thank you so much for joining us. Congratulations for being the second runner-up, basically, but everybody really knows that the two Davids were kind of both winners in that aspect, don't you think?

DAVID ARCHULETA: Yeah, definitely.

E: What are you looking forward to most about the Tour?

D: The Tour? I'm looking forward to, um, singing. [giggles] Just being able to see all the people who turned up and showed up and just having fun, you know. We're all on that stage again, only we're not competing against each other, we're not getting judged.

E: When you wanna sing a song to yourself, and you're like, you know, checkin' it out, down the road, you're hangin' in the car with your friends--David Archuleta singing a song. What kind of song do you like to sing out loud with your friends?

D: Just whatever's on the radio, pretty much. We'll sing anything.

E: Really?

D: Yeah, we listen to... well, when we're in the car we listen to it a lot and we're just blasting it and, you know, just [does a mini-dance, laughs]. Well, it's more like watching my friends. Some of my friends are pretty crazy.

E: How did you feel after Paula told you that she wanted to squish you up and dangle you from her rear view mirror. Did that freak you out?

D: Uh, actually, when I was up there, you know, when that happened, I had no idea what she was saying. Like, when you're in the--that whole zone of yours [giggles], you're just like, you're so spaced out because you're so focused on in your song. And like, it takes a lot of energy out of you and so when you're up there a lot of times, like, especially around the beginning I had no idea what the judges were saying. It just kinda like, [gestures something going over his head] went over my head totally. As the weeks went by, I was able to pay attention more to what they were saying but it was just so hard in the beginning 'cause so much was going on in your head.

E: But did you kind of zero in at all on Simon when he was, you know, 'cause Randy and Paula tend to be more positive [Archie giggles, "Yeah, yeah."], but Simon kind of goes for the jugular where you're kind of like, euhhh! [laughs]

D: Yeah, definitely. You know, it's always just kinda spooky with Simon 'cause his face is always the same. He doesn't frown or smile or anything. He just kinda has that face. So you never know what he's gonna say.

E: So, there was a lot of tears flowing in the last couple of episodes. It was a pretty emotional time.

D: Oh, [chuckles].

E: Are you typically that emotional?

D: No! I mean I look like a baby on the show. Gosh. It's just really emotional--overwhelming emotional experience. [scratches head XD] Stuff that doesn't usually happen, you know. It's once in a lifetime kind of thing. The feeling you get up there, it's just so over-powering.

E: I can imagine.

D: You know, there's nothing like it. And it's just--you know, you get a little teary-eyed.

E: What was the moment where you thought, "I need to step away here. I'm gonna lose it." Was that maybe when you went home?

D: Yeah, that was really [pauses for a chuckle] -- that was really cool. I mean, just to see everyone and, you know, it's your home. You know, your home--the support you get from your home--it's just, like a special kind of support.

E: Now have you been to New York City before?

D: I have. I have, yeah.

E: Okay, so it's not new to you. But did you do anything special this time around?

D: We went to see 'Wicked.'

E: Awesome!

D: Yeah, we had time after all the press and stuff. We had a night off and went to see 'Wicked.'

E: Now how much do you love Broadway? Is that something you'd be interested in doing?

D: I--I don't know. People have been asking me a lot about it and I thought... I don't know, I never thought I would be good at it just because I thought I didn't have good endurance. Especially with the vocal problems I've had in the past. But, I think I've gotten better enough where I could, like, could think about something like that. But, you know, I'm more into the pop stuff. Just performing and recording--I think that's more of my thing.

E: Most of the viewers that I've been checking in want to know what kind of an album do you wanna put out. Is it that pop-y sound, that traditional kind of pop sound?

D: Um, yeah, I think so. I'd like something more suited/simple(?) for my age because this is the only time I really get to [gestures with hands] be able to do this kinda thing and have fun with my music.

E: What, you don't wanna make some elevator (?) music?

D: [laughs] Well, I wouldn't mind having a few songs that are more--more deep. When I think of pop, I think of good examples are like, Sara Bareilles and John Mayer.

E: Oh, I love Sara Bareilles--she's great.

D: Well, they're popular but they're still respected with their music. So it's kinda like that thing where they can still enjoy and have a good time with their music and still be respected.

TV Guide with Erin Fox - PART TWO
[TV GUIDE VIDEO | YOUTUBE]

E: I think you guys wanna know that David has a little bit of a habit of when you're just talking about something, he actually bursts in with a little bit of a song--

D: Oh boy. [giggles]

E: --for whatever you're talking about, and it's awesome. You could tell you have, like, a huge music repertoire going on in that brain of yours, right?

D: [continues giggling] Just--I just sing a lot, I guess. I don't know. [giggles] (David is very giggly at this time xD)

E: No it's fun, though, right? Do you have a lot of songs--?

D: Oh boy. My friends always make fun of me for it, too.

E: They do?

D: Yeah. [looks down sheepishly]

E: I have a friend who's preparing for an American Idol next year. What is your advice to that person?

D: Just--you know, remember to have a good time and remember to show who you are as a person and just to be you. 'Cause they're not interested in you trying to be something you're not 'cause, you know, they wanna get to know you as, like, a person as well. 'Cause you know it's not just about singing the best for American Idol--it's about showing... being a good example and role model people could look up to.

E: Now, uh, one of the viewers want to know about your dad and his involvement with you in the show. Um, they want to know if he'd be continuing to be your vocal coach and actually (David giggles softly. "Oh, gosh.") well, you know, basically your vocal coach. And he does actually seem to know a lot about music and what sounds good with you. So, is he gonna continue to be a huge part of your vocal career?

D: Well, you know, I've had being--me being a minor, I've had to have a parent with me at all times. Same with Jordin, she had her family with her the whole entire time, too.

E: Does it cramp your style a little bit?

D: Um, no--my parents have been great, you know. My dad has been just a great support and someone who's been nice to have there just to help me keep grounded. I think what's great about my family is that they've helped me keep grounded and remind me what I'm here for.

E: Is there any place like, uh, as a seventeen-year-old guy that you'd wanna... kinda explore around the city by yourself or, you know, do back at home by yourself without any of that pressure of people knowing who you are?

D: Um, well, I'm... not sure if people... I think people back home would probably know who I am now.

E: Oh, yeah. Everybody knows who you are now.

D: Yeah, like, I already knew them. That's what's kinda weird. It's like, I already knew them, and now they're acting a little differently, which is kinda strange, but you know. It's so exciting 'cause there're a lot of... there're a bunch of my friends who still act the same and talk about the same things.

E: Are you planning on going back to your old school or do you continue to do homeschooling?

D: I don't know. I think I might go with homeschooling if I really want to do music. 'Cause you know, this is now the best opportunity I've ever had. So I just wanna keep that going.

E: Who is your celebrity crush?

D: I don't have a celebrity crush.

E: You don't have one person?!

D: I don't. I mean, I don't know. My definition of liking someone--I think that'd kinda meets/beats (?) it, it being a celebrity crush. Unless you got to know the celebrity and stuff. But you know, just like, automatically having a crush on someone you don't even know or haven't even met... it's a little weird for me.
(Darn, 'cuz that's what's happened to all of us, Archie! XDD)

E: You ever Googled yourself?

D: I have. Yeah.

E: Is it weird?

D: There's like this kickboxer guy named David Archuleta, too.

E: Oh really? Okay, so there's like a mixed batch in there.

D: I haven't done it lately [giggles]. Like, before.

E: It might be a little different now [laughs].

D: Yeah, I don't--I don't know if I'd want to do that anymore [laughs].

E: Are you clean or messy? And what's your favorite meal?

D: Um, I guess I'm clean and messy. You know, certain things are like--

E: I guess people wanna know if you're clean before they invite you for dinner. I'm not quite sure [laughs].

D: (David doesn't get the joke xD) Oh well, I'm a messy eater but I wash my hands before and after I eat.

E: Okay, good! Good to know [laughs].

D: Yeah! [giggles]

E: You seem to really want to concentrate on your music, but would you ever be interested in doing television and film?

D: I actually think that'd be a lot of fun. I just never thought I'd be good at it, but you know [shrugs]. That's always something that's kind of cut(?) my interest. [giggles] I could work on it a little.

E: What do you think is your weakest, um, point as a performer? Do you think--?

D: Umm... probably communicating. I'm not a good, you know [gestures with hands] talker. It's like, "Hi..." [holds imaginary mic]

E: Well, you're doing great right now!

D: Well it's good 'cause I have, like, someone to respond to. So it's--and like, keep it going back and forth. But when it's just kind of the audience, it's like, [holds imaginary mic and takes deep breath] "Sooo..." you know? It's just kinda awkward for me but, you know, I think I've gained some experience with that.

E: Okay, now every girl in America wants to know this question: Would you ever date a fan?

D: Ummm... well, if the fan... I don't know. I think if someone likes--you know, if you like someone and they liked you I think they should like your singing. 'Cause it'd be awkward if they hated you. [giggles-- "hee hee hee" xD] "I like you but I hate your singing." You know, that'd be kinda awkward so... I guess--

E: Yeah but, we have to draw the line at, like, creepy stalker fan. We just have to be like, "I casually really enjoy your music--"

D: Yeah!

E: "--I'd like to date you." [looks at camera] No creepy stalkers, please. [laughs]

D: Yeah. I think, you know, if I were to get to know someone... [shrugs] and they were a nice person, the right personality and have respect for themselves, it wouldn't be a bad thing. But if they were just kinda like, "I'm gonna try and do everything I can to look good in front of him," then it'd be kinda weird. Because it's all about being yourself.

UPDATE: Thanks for the positive responses, you guys! More interviews coming up soon, if you look at the list. Summer's THREE GLORIOUS DAYS awaaaay, so I'll be able to do more biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Thank You Video Blog (As requested by Dreamer)
[OFFICIAL YOUTUBE VIDEO]

['Think of Me' plays in the background]

Hey everyone, it's David Archuleta, and this is the first video blog I've ever done, so... [giggles] Sorry if I make a bunch of mistakes but I just wanted to thank everyone for the support you guys have given, and I just appreciate all the comments and fan letters, and things said to me in person. It's just been great to see good feedback and to know that all this hard work is worth it. And I just wanna thank you guys so much for voting and watching and everything you guys have done. I wouldn't have been here without all of you. You've definitely made this whole experience a lot of fun. I've gotten just--some crazy things sometimes in the mail, but also some really neat things. And it's just, heh--it's been great to see and get to know you guys as well when you come up on the street and stuff, so it's been--it's been great.

Life after the Finale has been pretty crazy. I had a couple days off and then we went to New York and did a bunch of press and interviews there, and it was a lot of fun. I saw a lot of you guys out there too. It was really neat to see all the signs and the--all the fans out there: Archies, Arch Angels--and that was really fun to see, and I just wanna thank you guys for coming out, it made it really exciting. Then after New York I got to go home for a week, and that was just great. Just to see all my family and spend some time with them, and to see my friends and we hung out a bunch [chuckles].

Well we're here a couple weeks before the Tour starts, and so we're starting all the rehearsals and getting back together. Fun to see everyone and catch up, see how their breaks have been. And now we're just rehearsing, and it's... fun [giggles]. It's really exciting, I mean, it's something I've never done before with all the touring stuff... all the cities we're going to. I mean, I can't believe how many we're going to and how long it's gonna be. I just can't wait, I mean all these cities I've never been to. It's gonna be fun to kinda sightsee and see everything and then [Archie swallows quite loudly, haha.] the performing part of it. You know, we're not competing against each other anymore, it's just all for fun, it's something we've all been looking forward to. It'll be fun to see the meet and greets, and see what the cities are like--it'll just be a lot of fun with that. Going to Canada for one show--that's pretty exciting, I've never been there (WHAT?! Oh, Archie, you have to visit us here now! Preferably here in VANCOUVER, since the darn Tour is going to Toronto but NOO, not here! D: ) and then we have two shows in my hometown in Utah. Well like, homestate. And that'll be a lot of fun to see who comes to see the show. You know, I'm looking forward to see everyone [giggles]. Hoping others would go. It'll be great so you better go. You know who I'm [points finger at camera] talking to, whoever you are. You should know anyway. But, uh, [giggles] hopefully you'll enjoy all the work we put into this, and uh, hope you guys all enjoy 'cause it'll be fun for us. It'll be a lot of work but it'll be fun at the same time. I mean, no more judges, so... [giggles]. I guess you guys will just be the judges but not really we'll just have fun--never mind. Ta-ha (lol sorry, dunno how to word out that noise that he made). It'll be fun [thumbs up], that's what matters.

Well that's it! My first video blog, I hope you guys enjoyed watching it. There'll be more to come over the summer, and more things to talk about. I... hope I didn't do too bad of a job, but thanks so much you guys for watching and all for your support again. I just really appreciate that. You don't--I don't think people realize how much that kind of stuff means to us. All of us, you know--me, Cook and everyone else. We really appreciate it and just wanna thank you guys so much again. So, take care you guys, hope to see you there on Tour, and just keep you guys updated on what's going on. So, [waves to the camera] see ya, take care! [giggles]

Did anybody notice that sound that his throat made after he said 'take care'? Hehe, that was a pretty awkward moment :P

The Davids on Access Hollywood (As requested by iluvdavid_angels2826)
[ACCESS HOLLYWOOD | YOUTUBE]

Shaun Robinson (Interviewer): So I'm with Big D and Little D. Now this is supposed to be a smackdown but how can that be when you guys just love each other so much?

David Cook: Uh, you know, I--I don't know, it's weird. Like... at no point this season I felt like I've been competing against anybody except myself, and so... that sounds really cliché saying it.

David Archuleta: (in the background) Oh, no.

DC: But I mean, tonight, I think it was just about us showing what got us here, you know? Just... it--it was fun. Tonight was just fun.

SR to Archie: Has it felt like that for you? Or are you, like, watching this guy's performances, making sure that you kinda up your game?

DA: Oh, no. No, it's just--

SR: Do you have gum in your mouth?

DA: I have grapes in my mouth. Sorry. I'm trying to like, chew, chew, chew but it's not workin'. Anyway [giggles]. That skin, dang it.

[DC and SR laugh loudly]

DA: (Archie's completely oblivious to his hilarious joke xD) But, you know, it's not--

SR: He's a comedian. If this singing thing doesn't work out for you, you could always go down to the Laugh Factory [laughs].

DA: Oh, no... no [giggles]. This guy [points to Cook] here, he's funny.

SR: Is he funny?

DA: Yeah [laughs].

SR: What does he do to crack you up?

DA: Lots of weird, random things.

SR: Like, random? Like, like... ?

DA: He just--he comes up with [snaps fingers] things on the spot. It's just really cool--

DC: Like this [holds out hand to Archie and prompts him to take it].

[Archie is either hesitant or confused as to what to do. He takes Cook's outstretched hand and Cook tries to fireman carry? Archie? I dunno what Cook was doing, ahaha. Anyway, while Cook was trying to carry/whateverhewasdoing Archie, Archie shouts, "AHH, AHH! OH, NO!" XD]

SR: You gotta be on your toes, man!

DA: He did that on stage. He like, carried me and almost threw me into the audience.

SR: So, what did you guys feel about your performance tonight? You know, um, [to Archie] you were feeling a lot of love from the judges, [to Cook] Simon was a liiitle bit tough tonight.

DC: Uhh, you know what, I kinda look at it like he--at least he's investing in me enough to have an opinion. As opposed to just being like, "Ehh, David Archuleta won."

SR: But he said that you were a very very nice guy. Is that like a... ?

DC: That's a compliment! I'll take a compliment any day of the week. Uh, no, but I--you know, Simon's Simon. They say what they're gonna say, you take it and you move on. Like I said, tonight--for me--was just about having fun and I had a blast, so.

SR: What about you, David?

DA: Yeah, yeah. It's just all about--yeah, just getting on that stage and doing what you love to do.

SR: Can I just say, you were losing your voice but it seemed very very strong tonight!

DA: I know! Well--

SR: It was a ploy, it was a ploy, wasn't it?

DA: Hmm?

SR: You told everybody you were losing your voice so then they would be right(?).

DA: No, actually, it's just been really--it's, like, been a blessing just how well my voice came back. And just, I can't believe that.

SR: What happened, it was just kinda--just not there?

DA: It's just, we're both [gestures to DC] so worn out. I mean, both--it's not just me. Cook here has been, you know, both of our voices have been killing us, how much work was put in to this. And so, you know just... [giggles] Lots of rehearsing and singing and talking in interviews--all of that, it just kinda takes a toll on your voice but I was just fortunate enough to be able to perform tonight.

SR: I understand that this guy [gestures to Archie] is becoming a sex symbol. Like, the women are--

DA: ... What? Oh, no no.

DC: [laughs]

SR: You are now a sex symbol. You know that, right?

DA: No, that's a weird word [awkwardly laughs].

SR: That is not weird!

DA: I think it is.

SR: Sex symbol's good!

DA: [pats DC's arm] You can call him that. All my friends like him [laughs].

DC: Okay [shrugs], all right. Sure.

SR: [laughs] But you know, you're not--you're not used to that. You're not used to the women just like--you know, just all over you, right?

DA: I don't think they are. I think they're--

SR: You sound kinda disappointed.

DA: They're all--no, they're always just like, [imitates somebody who pinches one's cheek] "Aww, cute little Archie." [DC and SR laugh]

SR: They go like this [reaches out to pinch Archie's cheek; Archie slightly backs away, lol]. They go, "Ohh, cute."

DA: Yeah [giggles].

SR: Instead of, "Woo, you're hot!"

DA: Yeah.

SR: Would you rather, "Ooh, you're hot."?

DA: I don't--I don't really pay attention, I guess. I don't... [giggles].

SR: Okay, there's one final thing. Tomorrow, you know, Ryan Seacrest is going to say, "And the winner is... David..." and then there's going to be a looong pause.

DC: That's what they say. Yeah, yeah. He's--As soon as they found out that was the two of us, (???) (Sorry, couldn't get what he was trying to say) that line on the script somewhere.

SR: Yeah, yeah. You know that's comin', right?

DC: Oh, yeah.

Top 3 First Impressions (As requested by iluvdavid_angels2826 and Dreamer)
[YOUTUBE]

NOTE: This was quite a different interview from the ones I'm used to writing down, so there might be a little bit of confusion. The video consisted lots of scene changes, not just your normal sit-down-and-talk kind of interview. The contestants are individually interviewed, but there are also scenes that kept cutting their individual interviews, scenes where they talk about each other, etc.

ii = "individual interview"

[DC ii]
The first time that I saw Syesha was actually Hollywood Week.

[DA ii]
I remember she lost her voice, so she was carrying a pad(?) around. I was like, "Oh my gosh, how are you gonna sing?" and stuff.

[DC ii]
So my first impression of Syesha was that she was a mute.

[scene with DA and SM eating some snack]
DA: It's like [imitates Syesha not being able to speak]. And on the stage, all of a sudden just like, came out and like, explosion. Like just like, [pretends to be literally blown away] wooooooshhhh.

[DA ii]
And now, she's just totally opened up, and she's one of the most energetic, funny people here.

[DC ii]
She's actually kind of a goof.

[scene with DC and SM]
SM: I'm glad you know me now.

[DC ii]
'Cause apparently she loves my jokes. Which, the pirate joke, is any indication Syesha has a terrible sense of humor.

[flashback to 2 weeks ago, when DC made that pirate joke thing. (Have you seen the new pirate movie? It's rated ARRR.)]
DC: It's rated ARRRR.

[SM ii]
I remember David Archuleta singing. I was like, "He so cute! Oh, look how, like, pure his voice sounds."

[back to scene with DA and SM]
SM: I remember calling my mom and telling her about you.
DA: Really?

[SM ii]
And David Cook, I was like... "He's pretty fancy."

[imitates Cook's voice] "This is my vocabulary and I know so many words." And I'm like, "Ahh, I'm kinda scared to talk to him." But now, that it's like, smaller and more intimate, I get to talk to both of them and they're great guys.

[DC ii]
You know, when I first met David he was really... really shy. Which is, I know, huge shocker.

[scene of DC and DA]
DC: The one thing about Dave that I don't think a lot of people don't realize is he's got a real dry wit. He's really funny, even when he's not trying to be funny.
DA: What's dry wit mean?

[DC ii]
Almost like an English sense of humor. Just very like... ah, Hugh Grant. Just very, "Aw shucks." Like [imitates Hugh Grant's laugh (?)]. Like that kind of stuff?

[back to DC and DA scene]
DC: Like, your speeches that you give at the send-off dinners? Always my favorite.

[DC ii]
It's kind of a roast, and just, you know, to kinda poke fun at whoever's going home and it's all in good fun.

[DC and DA scene again]
DC: I remember Amanda, when you told her--
DA: Oh, yeah [laughs].
DC: --you thought she was scary. That's the funny stuff.
DA: [continues laughing] Oh, man.
DC: 'Cause he said it very sincerely. He doesn't mean anything by it.
DA: Well... I'm not gonna just--I'm not gonna tell it to her face... well, I mean, [Cook laughs] I--and plus, she's really nice, too. She just could... kill you if you got her mad. It's just--that's the only problem. [adorably giggles xD and then puts hands on hips] She's a nice one, though.
DC: See what I'm talking about? It's awesome.
DA: That's not funny...
DC: Yeah, it is!
DA: That's not funny.
DC: Yeah, [nods] it is!

[DC ii]
Yeah, Archie is... very, very funny.

[DC and DA scene yet again]
DA: Okay.
DC: Well this was fun. [playfully hits Archie's shoulder] Later, man. [exits]
DA: [makes a motion of following DC, but doesn't follow. Awkwardly stands there for 5 seconds (SERIOUSLY, I COUNTED!), looking at the camera, smiling in a, "Uh, what do I do?" kind of way.]
DA: [drifts sideways] 'Kay.
[Crew laughs]

LOL. For some reason, you vaguely remind me of SOMEbody, ahha.

DC somewhat explained what dry wit meant, and that's when someone's funny even when they don't try to be. Archie's just the pure definition of dry wit. If you read during the last parts (where Archie says Amanda was scary) he wasn't deliberately trying to be funny, he was just saying what's on his mind. It just so happens that how he words out his thoughts is hilarious.

Another example of David's dry wit was during his homecoming, when he was in the limo after he met his fans. He was dead serious when he asked, "Gosh, where did they park?" To him, that might not seem funny, but to most people it comes off as ha-ler-ious XD. Of all the things he could have said, he said that.

So, yeah. That's what dry wit is.

I hope I've helped you understand it. Now that I read over it, that seemed like a horrible explanation... yikes :\
Yan
Don't worry. I think that's a great explanation! Thanks so much for this thread! This is great!

BTW, I love Archie's dry wit, one thing that make him sooooo attractive hehehe

FOX interview (As requested by iluvdavid_angels2826)
[YOUTUBE]

Interviewer: [interviewer was cut off] --in high school still, huh?

David: Mm, yeah [chuckles].

Interviewer: What are your grades like, young man?

David: Well, last term I had one B and the rest are As. But you know, that one B...

Interviewer: Oh, darn that one B!

David: Yeah [giggles]. Dang. It's like, the more I travel during a term, the worse my grades get, I guess. Last year I didn't do any travelling so I had As the whole entire time. You know, 4.0--I was really proud. My goal was to get 4.0 the whole three years, but, you know, this year hasn't been as good. I've been really concentrating on music this time. It was kind of unexpected--auditioning, because it was a last minute thing. I've always thought about auditioning but, you know. That month I was like, "You know what? I should just go and audition and see what happens." It's turned out really well now.

Interviewer: Has anybody told you you couldn't make it?

David: No, not really. I think the only person that has, really, is me. Trying to be realistic about everything. Just thinking, anything can happen. Some amazing singers have been turned down. There're some people who are famous now that tried out for American Idol and didn't make it past first round. I know Colbie Callat--Caillat? I don't know how to pronounce her name. She sings 'Bubbly.'

Interviewer: Oh, right! She tried out for Idol?

David: Yeah, she tried out, I think the fifth season, I heard on the radio. She got turned down the first audition. Now look where she is. It's just all about timing. If it's your day or your time for... you know, it's your moment, then it's your moment. Then you just have to be patient with all of this. That's what I've learned through all of this. You just have to keep on being patient. I think for the first audition, for lining up we got there at midnight. And we just waited all night until 11 o'clock till we actually auditioned. And there's just thousands and thousands of people. It was all worth it though. So, it pays off to be patient.

Interviewer: Five words that describe who you are?

David: Um... I don't know... My name's David Archuleta. Yay [giggles].

Interviewer: Adjective!

David: [continues giggling/laughing] Um... [laughs even more XD]

Interviewer: Quirky, funny...

David: Well, um... weird, uh... spacey [giggles]. Happy--I like to be happy and... uh, I don't know. I don't really think about myself too much.

Interviewer: Would/Did(?) you say you're an over-achiever?

David: Oh, I don't really think about myself too much, I said. Well, I don't cheat though. That's true, I don't cheat. Oh, I don't lie.

Interviewer: No, overachiever. That's what I was saying, overachiever. (Haha, Archie thought the interviewer asked if he was a cheater xD)

David: Oh! Oh, no. But I don't lie. I'm honest. I like to be honest. People are always like... [giggles] they always make fun of me because I always try to not lie and so they're always like, "Just play along." and stuff. But I'm like, "That's lying though." Just with jokes. Like, trying to pull a prank on people. I don't know, I just don't like lying. I have to keep my reputation up.

Interviewer: How do you stay original?

David: Original? You know, you just have to be yourself. To be original, you just have to keep on being how you are everyday. Just, with your friends and just how people see you at school. I like to be friendly with everyone. You know, when people hate people it's like, "Why would you hate someone?" There's never really a reason to hate someone unless you make it in your mind. There's always something to like about someone.

Interviewer: Are you like, the most popular guy on campus now?

David: Oh [giggles]. No [giggles while shaking head]. Well, not really. I don't know. I just like to get along with everyone. I think, for that part, I like to keep a good relationship with everyone even if it's not that strong or anything, I just like to keep a friendly one.

Live on Regis and Kelly (As requested by Dreamer)
[YOUTUBE: PERFORMANCE AND INTERVIEW]

Regis: David Archuleta, one of the old-time American Idol fan favorites.

Kelly: Oh, my goodness!

R: Seventeen years old, from the small town of Utah called Murray.

David Archuleta: Yeah! Murray, Utah.

R: You're seventeen right now. You must be in high school?

DA: Yeah, yup. A junior in high school.

R: Junior in high school. You're still in school, so did you have to take tutoring while you were involved with the--

DA: Yeah, I did. Everyday, I had to do school for at least 3 hours.

K: So while everybody else was trying to memorize the songs you were doing all that--math equations and history and all of that.

DA: Yeah, I tried to. It was fun, though. It was a nice thing to kind of focus on something else while everything crazy was going on. So it was just kinda like, a nice distraction I have even though sometimes [giggles] it was the only free time I had but... yeah. It worked out, so.

R: You remember the first song you performed? Publicly?

DA: The first time I performed in a public place with people I don't know was at a restaurant that my parents would play at. It's a Mexican restaurant in Utah. And I'd sing like, 'I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus' [audience laughs] or some stuff like that during Christmas.

R: How old were you?

DA: I was like, eight or nine.

K: Eight or nine!

DA: Yeah, but it was just kinda like... "Yeah..." [giggles]. I don't know what I was doing. It was fun. I like to sing, though, so... I loved music when I was seven.

R: And then you've been on Star Search, right? You've been on Star Search. A lot of (???) this kid had.

K: Yes, that's right. And did you win? You won Star Search, right?

DA: I won the junior category for my season, yeah.

K: Oh, great! You know, I remember something Simon said to you earlier on and I'm wondering if you remember this. He sat there and it's one of those moments that Simon was really... sort of vulnerable? But he said, "I wish I had what you have." Do you remember that?

DA: Huh?

[Audience laughs]

K: He was talking... You seemed shocked by then, and you seem shocked by now.

R: What did he say, exactly?

K: He said, [adopts British accent] "I wish I had what you have." [audience laughs]

DA: [looks around] When did he say that? What--eh?

R: You like Simon?

DA: Yeah, he's a nice guy. You know, he has to be Simon on the show. He's very honest and blunt, but it's helpful and off-camera he's just friendly.

R: Well, off-camera he wishes what you have.

[Archie and audience laughs]

R: Yes! Isn't that it?

K: That's what he said, yeah!

R: I don't know about what he said, I guess he said that, yeah.

DA: I don't remember that.

K: I remember it like it was yesterday. 'Cause I--[points to audience] You remember too! The whole front row remembers!

Someone from the audience: "Young, cute and talented."

K: Yes, right.

R: Now here you are with all these young fans. Do you have a girlfriend?

DA: I don't. [looks around the audience] Not yet, at least. [Audience loudly cheers, Archie laughs].

R: Do you want a girlfriend?

DA: Uh, not yet. You know, I--when I'm ready for it. It's just there's so much on my mind now. All the stuff going on and music--I just really want to focus on that.

R: Well, you got the Tour coming up, right? The American Idol Tour?

[Audience claps and cheers]

DA: Yeah, the Tour's coming up!

R: And then back to school for your senior year?

DA: Yeah, you know, just to--

R: How are you gonna go back to high school after going through all of this?

DA: Ah, [sighs] good question.

K: Aren't you really gonna start making albums?

DA: I'm really excited to work on that. I just--something I've been looking forward to this whole time. This whole American Idol thing has just been something to open new doors and those kinds of doors are what I've been waiting for and I'm just so excited for the opportunities.

R: But they say you almost didn't audition for American Idol.

DA: Yeah. I mean, I had a summer job as a techie--technician--at a park ampitheater [giggles]. I was just like, you know, "I needed something to do!"

K: "I've got a good thing going on here, why would I leave the comfort of this?"

DA: [giggles] Yeah, pretty much.

K: May I ask you a question: What are your fans called? 'Cause I know a lot of like--you know, the David Cook fans are called the Cookies or something.

DA: Cookies? (I find the way he said it utterly... adorable xD)

K: Or Cougars for Cook, or something like... [looks at somebody in the audience] What are you called?

Somebody from the audience: Arch Angels.

DA: [giggles] Yeah, the Archies and Arch Angels. [waves to audience] Heeey...

K: You know, Regis's fans are called the Regects (Rejects).

[Everybody laughs]

K (to R): It's nice though, it's nice that you have your own group.

R: Well I think it is, too, yeah. American Idol Tour--tickets are on sale right now. You go to our website for more information. David, you're on your way [shakes hand] --

DA: Oh, thanks very much.

[Audience wildly cheers]

K: [shakes Archie's hand] You're so charming!

I was wondering, when did Simon said "I wish I had what you have"?
I don't think he did. I think it was when he said, "You're young, cute and talented. That's not a bad place to be, is it?" during Hollywood week, after Archie sang 'Heaven.' Because, being the obsessed fan girl I am, I've watched almost every single video out there and I strongly doubt Simon said something like that. I could be wrong, though, but I really don't remember Simon saying that...

The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet (As requested by iluvdavid_angels2826)
[YouTube: INTERVIEW | "ANGELS" PERFORMANCE]

Juliet: Welcome back to The Morning Show. So during Season 7 our next guest many times was declared the new American Idol by the judges Paula, Simon and Randy. But he didn't take the title. He did, though, remain a star and he continues to remain a star. Watch this.

[shows various clips from David's journey, his performances, etc.]

J: But he's a winner with us. Please welcome David Archuleta!

[Archie walks in, looooud applause & screaming from the audience, hugs Juliet (haha she practically squished him) and takes a seat]

J: Well your biggest fans are out there, I think. They're not here to see you, David. Please.

David Archuleta: That's what I said(?) for this show.

J: I'm just kidding. They're here to see you, my friend.

DA: [giggles] Oh, no no.

J: You were getting out of the truck out there and people were freaking out. The windows out here--they're waving at you. They couldn't get in to the show. You are very, very big and popular right now. What's it like?

DA: Well, everyone knows who you are now. So it's kinda crazy. It's like, I'm all the way mi-- hundreds of-- whatever miles from home and people know who you are. It's like, all these people. It's not just like, one person. It's like--

J: Everybody.

DA: No, not everybody.

J: Oh, pretty much(?) everybody.

DA: They're just like, a bunch of people that come up to you and say "hi" and... you know, some scary papparazi people.

J: Are they scary to you?

DA: No... well they're just kinda creepy.

J: You have to be nice to them though. 'Cause otherwise, you know... [mumbles].

DA: I know! Most of them are polite, anyway. So [shrugs].

J: Your dad Jeff travels around with you now, obviously. You're seventeen years old, still. (What the heck was Archie saying/mumbling??? He goes, "Mhmm, yeah." then after that, he chants something like... "moomaida" or something LOL. I don't know! It's bugging me... XD) So you need a guardian, naturally. But what's it like back at home?

DA: I don't know...

J: I mean, your house is obviously still standing there.

DA: Hopefully [laughs].

J: Are people coming by?

DA: Uh, yeah, my mom told me that there are like, all these cars always going around. (I love his face expression when he was saying this, hahaha) And she said people were like, [eyes widen XD] looking through our windows and stuff and I think that's kinda creepy . It's like, "Uhh... a little personal space there, please."

J: What does your family think about this? Are they cool with all the attention that they're getting now because of--?

DA: Um, well, my mom--I don't know if my mom's too fond of it. I don't know what everyone else is thinking. But, you know, I love my mom and she's kinda like me, where she's just kinda like... "Awkward..." [laughs]

J: Hopefully it's gonna calm down a little bit, because you're gonna be taking a little bit of time off, right?

DA: Yeah! A few days off and then off to Tour rehearsal 'cause the Tour's coming up July first! (Sorry. Just have to say that he looked so ADORABLY excited when he said that XD)

J: Tell us a little bit about your personal life. You have--you dating anybody? And [gestures to audience] easy over there... [Archie and audience laugh] Whitney's screaming for you. She's got a ring on her finger.

DA: I feel like I'm too young. I feel like I'm too young to be worried about that stuff. I mean, all of my friends with their boyfriends and girlfriends. And they're all like, all depressed after they break up. "I can't live without them." It's like, "You're seventeen. Get over it. You have school and all of this..." I just feel like I have music to really concentrate on right now. But you know, I'd l--it's definitely something I think is important in life (Oooh, he slipped on that one. "I'd l--" Hahaha :P).

J: Have you ever had a girlfriend?

DA: No.

J: No?!

[Audience 'Aww's]

DA: No, I've never--I've gone on dates... you know, they're fun.

J: What would be a fun date for you? If you could take a girl out-- ?

DA: Yeah, Disney World or Disney Land. I think that'll be a lot of fun.

[Someone in the audience laughs]

DA: [laughs] Yeah!

J: We know who's gonna be running around with Mickey Mouse, then. About a week probably in Disney Land--

DA: See, I'm immature. See, I'm just showing how I'm not ready for this [giggles]...

J: No, no it's cute! You're seventeen years old, David! You're still a kid.

DA: Oh [giggles].

J: I hope you stay as charming and as sweet as you have been to me and to everybody that you've been working with here [audience applauds]. You're a sweet guy, and you're so talented. Congratulations.

DA: Oh, thank you.

J: We're gonna see you on the Tour. We're gonna take our whole staff out.

DA: You are? Oh, cool! (LOL, seems to me like Archie actually believed it xD)

J: Yeah! They don't know that yet, but we're gonna do it.

DA: Oh, fun!

J: We'll be screaming for you.

DA: Well, it'll be fun. I'm excited.

J: [laughs] Congratulations. Can I just-- [gets off of stool and reaches out to pinch Archie's cheeks]

Michael Johns: Talented.

David Hernandez: Talented.

Syesha Mercado: Suuuper talented.

Chikezie: David Archuleta has chops. [makes karate chop gesture with hands and then laughs] Hiyaaa!

Brooke White: And very humble. The kid is seventeen years old and he is in the Top 2 of American Idol and it's like it doesn't really faze him.

Jason Castro: David Archuleta has very good teeth. And I know this because he's always smiling.

Ramiele Malubay: He doesn't think he's very funny but just the stuff that comes out of his mouth sometimes is really funny.

Chikezie: His nervous laugh is the funniest thing I've ever heard.

Carly Smithson: He makes this funny noise all the time when he tries to talk and it's like, "Heh heh heh." (LOL, I can't write down how that laugh sounded... you must hear it to understand xD)

David Hernandez: [imitates DA] "Oh, gosh."

Chikezie: [imitates DA's nervous laugh]

Amanda Overmyer: He's always concerned about others and cares about people.

Kristy Lee Cook: He's the closest thing to being a little brother to me.

Syesha Mercado: Like someone's best friend. He's just an all-around good person.

Jason Castro: David Archuleta is young. I can't wait to see him grow up.

Carly Smithson: I will definitely enjoy going on Tour with Little Archie.

Michael Johns: I can't wait to get him on the road. [malicious smile] I can't wait to get him on the road.

JD Roberto (host): Michael Johns wants to corrupt you. On the road, that guy.

Archie: I don't think that'll happen. I don't want-- [giggles].

As far as I know, the only way you can rip YouTube videos is if you download some program or something. If you try Googling 'rip YouTube videos', I'm pretty sure there are sites that let you... I don't know too much about it though, sorry :\

David Archuleta Answers Fan Questions: SNEAK PEEK (As requested by Dreamer)
[PEOPLE | YOUTUBE]

I wanna thank everyone for sending questions to my MySpace and want to get to know me. I appreciate that because some people just assume things, so hopefully these questions will straighten some things out, and I picked a few.

The first one here is from Lisa. And she asked, "Do you have any pets? If so, what kind and what are their names?"

I have a dog, it's a poodle and his name's Teddy. He's a fun dog, I guess. He doesn't do too much [giggles] but he knows how to shake and dance a little bit. And then I have a gold fish and its name -- I don't know if it's a boy or a girl. Who knows. If you know how to tell, let me know. That'd be kinda nice to know, I guess. But its name is Conditioner and uh, that's kind of a long story why that works out. But, yeah, its name is Conditioner, it's about the size of my hand. It's healthy. It was nice to go back home and kinda take care of both of them [giggles then clears throat]. Pets are cool (Yes they are, David! I want a dog! sad.gif). I actually want more. I used to have cats, but I had to move and couldn't keep 'em 'cause my dad's allergic. So that was pretty sad but, you know, I love animals; can't wait to get more when I grow up.

The next question here is from Dolly. And she said, "Hi David. So we know your lovely mom is from Honduras," thanks, I think she's lovely, too, "I was just wondering if you speak Spanish."

I speak a little bit of Spanish. I wish I spoke more. It was actually my first language when I was little. But then I didn't really speak too much English to people who didn't speak Spanish, so I learned English and I guess it just didn't work out. I guess my parents kinda forgot to keep the Spanish going along with the English, so I kinda forgot quite a bit. Which is sad 'cause my whole mom's side of the family speaks Spanish. Some of them don't speak English, so the only way I can talk to them is Spanish [giggles]. But, you know, I love that culture. My mom has been great listening to that part of the music side and food. It's just great culture. I love it.

This question's from babyface04/lee(?) and they asked, "Do you work out or lift weights?" [giggles]

I... you know, I used to. I mean, I've gotten pretty flabby (HA! Yeah right, David! Flabby... PSHH!) [looks at arm] while I've been here. I haven't really had time to work out. It's kinda sad. I used to actually do cross-country but I quit because I came here. This takes a lot of your time out, and I didn't really know how long I'd be out here, and you know, made it to the Finale which is really great. I actually wanna start running again--doing push-ups and sit-ups--that's what I used to do. But... just haven't really had time. I think I'll find some time to do it now. 'Cause I love to run--it's just great. You just feel so refreshed from getting a good work out and run.

[clip from previous vlog]
See ya, take care!

One of David's friends tells us how Conditioner got its name here. Thanks, TG! :D

American Idol Extra - PART ONE (As requested by ArchuletaINChina)
[YOUTUBE]

JD Roberto: Well, this season, here's a number you're probably familiar with: 103, 000 people turned out all over the country to audition for American Idol. Among them was a shy kid of seventeen years old, with sleepy eyes and a magical voice. But you can call him David Archuleta. Let's bring him out!

[audience wildly cheers/applauses as David walks in]

David Archuleta: Hey [giggles].

JDR: Welcome, David. Welcome, welcome.

DA: Aw, thank you.

JDR: Grab a seat.

DA: Oh, it's packed.

JDR: Murray, Utah's own! [audience continues to cheer]

DA: [ADORABLY laughs, hehe]

JDR: Here's one of the things I notice: when they scream for David Archuleta -- and they do scream for David Archuleta -- the pitch is very high. It's that very, like--you're very popular with fourteen-year-old girls--

DA: [looks at audience] Oh, my gosh, Ashley! Oh! Those are my friends from Utah. And Chantelle! And Chantelle's mom!

JDR (to Ashley, Chantelle and... her mom, lol): How proud are you of this guy [points to David] right now?

DA: Sorry. Sorry [giggles]. That was a shock, sorry. I didn't expect to see them.

JDR: We're all about the reunions here on American Idol Extra.

DA: They're really cool! Just so you guys know.

JDR: David looks star-struck! Here he is, like, one of the most famous guys on the planet right now and his friends from Utah are making his day. That's good!

DA: It's good to see them [friends say something and he laughs].

JDR: You're keepin' it real. So, talk to me about last night. I'm in the audience last night. Simon, "Three rounds for you, it's a knockout."

DA: Nah [giggles].

JDR: I know that's what you say now but did you go home thinking, "Man, I mighta won this thing."?

DA: No. Well, in a different sense, I guess. It's like, people have already seen how we've progressed and they've seen all of our performances. Cook didn't have a bad night. I don't know what's Simon's problem [audience laughs]. But Simon even apologized tonight and I think that's just really great because we put so much work into this. This week has just been so crazy. And so it was just good to see him apologize to Cook 'cause Cook has really worked hard. He deserves that title [audience applauds].

JDR: They must've made a deal beforehand. You guys talk really great about each other, I mean, even up there on that stage.

DA: Well, you know, Cook's like my big brother. He's just been great. I really admire him. He's such a cool guy.

JDR: Do you guys talk during the week? 'Cause we picture, "Well, it's David versus David." So we think that you don't see each other, you don't talk...

DA: We spend like, every day with each other.

JDR: Really? Do you actually talk about things like song choice with him? Does he know what you're gonna do, or is it a surprise?

DA: Yeah, no... I showed him what I had when I found out. It's just like, you know [giggles], "Yeah, this is what I'm doing..." [giggles].

JDR: So you guys share that information?

DA: I do. I don't know about other people but I did. [audience laughs]

JDR: It seems a little weird at the very end because you guys were so different. It's really apples and oranges. It's like, how do you see(?) this guy is better or that guy's better?

DA: We're just both different artists and we both love what we do, and we both worked really hard to get to this point. It's just--thanks to everyone who voted for us [audience cheers]. We really appreciate it. All of them--they're the reason why we're here, and the reason why we've been able to experience all of this. It's just been so great.

JDR: You talked about David being a little bit of a big brother. Obviously, you're the youngest one in the competition, at least for the Top 12 one. Did you look up to anybody? Was anybody kind of a mentor for you? Anybody kinda keep you in the (???)

DA: Everyone. Everyone has just had something that I've learned. Everyone's so different. It's just been great to watch everyone and see how they've grown. It feels like people I've been going to school with.

JDR: You generally got along with these people. It wasn't just for camera.

DA: No. You forget cameras are there.

JDR: Eventually.

DA: Yeah, eventually [giggles]. I don't know about (???)

JDR: Well, we talked to all of them about you. They all liked you quite a bit as well. They had something they wanted to say to you tonight.

American Idol Extra - PART TWO (As requested by ArchuletaINChina)
[YOUTUBE]

JD Roberto: Welcome back to American Idol Extra. Sitting here with the guy that I know you know, Mr. David Archuleta. [loud cheering, David waves] I'm laughing because during the break, David was going through the audience making sure they had a good time at the show. Like, that's how sweet he is. He's like, "Did you have a good time? 'Cause I'll give you your ticket back if you didn't."

David Archuleta: Oh, no [laughs].

JDR: Did you have a good time performing last night?

DA: Oh, I had a great time. Just... oh! You pour your heart and soul and everything into your performance. Especially for the last night. You just want to leave a good impression. I just felt like I did what I needed to do. All this work, and it's down to this and I'm here performing. I just felt like I did the best I could. There's nothing I regret. It's just one of the best feelings you could ever feel.

[audience applauds]

JDR: You're the only one here that has to go to school at the same time. So, you're doing these video shoots, you're doing all the press, you're learning new songs, and you're going to school. You're the only one that has to go to school out of this group. How do you balance that?

DA: It was really tough, you know, three hours a day. Especially this past week, it was hard. It's like, "I don't think I'm gonna find time to rehearse here!" But I managed to go through it and it worked out at the end. I'm just so greatful.

JDR: Do you stay aware of what's going on around you? There's so much, I mean, everything from tabloids to the newspapers to the Internet. Do you stay aware of what's going on--

DA: No, I hate that stuff.

JDR: --when people are saying junk about your Dad on the Internet, how do you ignore it and keep going? How do you stay focused?

DA: You just know that, you know, I think I would know more than anyone else about me and what's being talked about me whether it's true or not and so it's just like-- [audience claps and David giggles] If it's true, I want to feel like I'm still myself, just normal David, everyone isn't talking about him. Just someone who loves to sing.

JDR: But you're not normal David anymore. There are the screams from throngs of girls. The proposals of marriage [audience (mainly the girls) cheers], the signs in the audience that say, "David, I'm in love with you." I can't call you a sex symbol yet 'cause you're 17; you're gonna be a sex symbol at 18. But you're a heartthrob now.

DA: It's kind of weird to think of yourself like that. I don't--it's weird [giggles].

JDR: But you must see what happens around you. You can't walk down the street right now, can you?

DA: You haven't had time to walk down the street, actually. I haven't done that awhile. For months I've been rehearsing and just been trying to give the best I can.

JDR (to audience): Do you think he gave his best? [audience cheers] You were fantastic out there, man. Fantastic. We had a question for you from our audience. It is brought to you by AT&T: Your world delivered. It's from Carly... where's Carly in the audience? There--Hi, Carly, you got a question?

Carly: Hi, David.

DA: Oh, hi.

C: I have a question for you. With the former American Idol people, who would you compare yourself and why?

JDR: Yeah, so past seasons of Idol. Who would you think you're most like?

DA: It's hard to compare yourself to someone. You just see yourself as you. I feel like I'm just David. Stupid at times but, you know. I don't really compare myself to anyone. I guess that's who's made me who I am. Just trying to stay myself, and that's what Cook has done too.

[audience applauds]

JDR: This has been a season of really unique personalities. It's been a long journey, as you said.

DA: Oh, man.

JDR: It's been a lot of rehearsing, it's been a looong journey since your first audition back in San Diego.

DA: Yeah, July [giggles].

JDR: Are you ready to do that thing where we look back and we sort of see the David Archuleta journey?

DA: Oh, sure.

JDR: Okay, let's--

DA: Well, I hate--

JDR: --look back at your journey through Idol.

DA: [looks down at hands] Gosh [giggles].

[shows clips of David's audition, with his voice saying in the background, "You can just affect people so much just with a song, and just the way you sing it." Then shows clip from 'Another Day In Paradise', the current David is shown at the bottom right, not wanting to see his journey and is covering his eyes. Clip from 'Angels' is shown, current David is plugging his ears, haha :P Clip from 'When You Believe', David is yet again plugging his ears, and is mimicking himself when he sings. Clip from 'Love Me Tender' is shown, current David keeps on looking down. Voice-over of David says, "Taking risks--that's what you have to do sometimes. And it was worth it."]
^FOR SCREEN CAPS OF THESE CLIPS, SCROLL BELOW.

[audience cheers]

JDR: You were plugging your ears throughout that! Do you really not like hearing yourself?

DA: Oh, I hate-- I haven't watched any of my performances. I tried to, with my very first one, 'Shop Around'. I had to leave the room. I just can't stand it-- I don't know, it just bugs me.

JDR: You also did a pretty good David Archuleta impression with the hand. With the singing hand?

DA: I know. I was like, "La-da-da..." [stretches out hand because that's what he does when singing xD] It's like, "Get back here!" [pulls right hand with left]

JDR: [imitates David] "Get that hand back in the thing!"

DA: I don't know what's wrong with me [audience is protesting, haha].

JDR: I don't think anything is wrong with you! I think you're fantastically talented. Give it up, come on! David Archuleta! [audience cheers] Did you have a best week out there? You said you weren't thrilled with summaries(?). Did you have a best week? One that if they can put at time caps, and that's what you want 'em to do? (I seriously have no idea what JD was saying, he was talking more than a hundred miles per second.)

DA: I just loved being able to sing 'Imagine.' What it was able to do for people, and people telling me how much they appreciated that performance means a lot to me. It showed to me what music does, and it showed the power of music [audience applauds]. It shows why I love it so much.

JDR: Thank you very much, David [shakes David's hands]. Thank you for sitting down with us. Would you sign some autographs with our audience? [audience cheers]

DA: Oh, sure.

JDR: We'll keep the bodyguards around so nobody makes you marry them right out of the spot.

DA: [laughs]

JDR: Head on right out there. David Archuleta's gonna come sign some pictures.

* I figured the clips part would be kinda confusing, so I'm providing you screen caps -- complete with captions! :D
