i have a feeling it will be amazing.

I get the feeling that, since David didn't know much about this week's theme (shocking, I know!!!), he probably was feeling really nervous because he wasn't comfortable with it. It's also possible that, despite his fantastic voice, he doesn't have enough experience yet to be able to ace every song that comes his way - although time will certainly bring that Also, he's kind of been destroying all the competition up to this point - maybe this (I hate to say disaster, but...) will give him that little reality check that all great performers need to rise to superstardom!!!

Plus, it's not up to the judges for who gets voted off. It's America, and all his supporters are going to KEEP supporting him, and he has a buuuunch, so I'm positive that he's stayin'.

It made me SO mad tonight when Simon said it was a mess!
David hit all the right notes, and only missed a few words!
He even said he was nervous in the video before the song because he wasn't confident in the song.

Not his best, but one performance is definitely not going to break him or his fan base. Some of these comments on the other forums are just ridiculous and really overboard. He'll get through this week. I just hope he doesn't dwell on this (like many will) and move on. He needs to prepare for next week.

I still support David 100%, it would be quite pathetic to give up on him based on one night after Imagine, Heaven, Paradise, Shop Around, Angels, 1,000 miles, Angels in the Alleyway, etc.

Well, it's live for only certain people, like on the East Coast, it's live, because that's the time they are taping it, in Central and West Time Zones, I don't think it's live, but it might be! So, we try to hold out on the results until everyone knows about it and has watched it, because some people haven't seen it.

okay, so I've been reading comments on a few other sites (and making them myself in complete and total defense of David). It actually doesn't seem that bad, though. Even the people who are commenting that tonight's performance was off still tend to say they like him and he'll still be around for a long time.
First of all, it wasn't a bad performance by any means. It was still good, he just messed up (forgot) the lyrics a bit. And while typically that's a big no no on A.I., he's just so AMAZING overall that I don't think one performance that isn't perfect is going to hurt him, especially with the legions of fans voting like mad for him every week! I actually agree with others and think it might have been a good thing that he "stumbled" a bit since people tend to tire of perfection and want to see the contestants in a tight race for the title. Besides, I think Carrie Underwood messed up before and Simon wailed on her a few times and she ended up winning it all!
Actually, I'm still voting now...I'm in Hawaii so the show just finished here about 45 minutes ago so voting is in full effect! (i've gotten in about 103 votes so far, yea!) And I've hit a LOT of busy signals, more than in the past 3 weeks, so that's a good sign, right?
PLUS, dialidol still has David as the top vote getter, and I hear that thing is pretty accurate.
So anyway, my point is - I really do believe our boy will be just fine and we'll be able to continue hearing his glorious voice over the next 10 weeks to come. He is still absolutely amazing and will bring it again next week!! :D

i for one disagree and do not care at all how he sounded or sang, first of all it was all rock themed, my poor babe had no choice and obviously wasnt emotionally connected with the song choices and his vocals arent even registered for rock themed songs. he mustve been so nervous with all the hype about the amazing "top 12" and an intimidating new stage which couldve thrown him off even more but no worries because he'll command it in the upcoming weeks and its like paula said, we love u david, regardless of a unsuitable song besides this only makes me vote faster =D

not at his best, yet he made mistake.
I almost cried when he came up n appeared to be so shy n scared like that(well I didnt).
it really wasnt his fault, n he still stands out completely no matter what they said

David looked worried along the way though. So nice of him to calmly digest the criticsms. Good attitude indeed. Infact the judges didnt make harsh remarks against David. David still the front runner so far. Go for it! You are still the next American Idol. Remember that!

Yeah, it wasn't his best but he already said he was very worried about this theme cause he didn't know much about it. Its not like every 17 yr old is into the Beatles right? At least he tried his best, plus he was in tune all the way. If he wasn't so nervous and didn't miss out any words, it would've been a great performance actually :) I disagree with Simon though. It wasn't that bad.

But oh well! We all know that he's not going out anytime soon aye? :)

On Dial Idol David has the most votes by a long shot. He's not going to get voted off.

After Crazy, Heaven, Shop Around, Imagine, and Another Day In Paradise, I certainly think he's allowed to have one bad performance. I, personally, voted like mad. Yeah... his performance was horrible (for David). But his voice was as pure and clear as ever, and I don't think one bump in the road will end it for him. Remember, y'all, Chikezie had three or four performances in a row that were panned by the judges, who have been praising David at every turn up until now. As long as he's his usual self on Tuesday, I still think he'll go all the way.

I couldn't agree more. He needs us now more than ever. It is the top 12! Anyways, one bad performance won't hurt him at all. I bet Jordin Sparks and all the other A.I.s messed up a couple times.

I just downloaded the 'studio version' of David's 'we can work it out' and it sounded AMAZING! I keep listening to it over and over again! LOVE IT! I only wish he could have sounded like that last tuesday. I wanted to hug him so bad when his nerves kinda took over for a while! Regardless of his less than perfect performance last tuesday, he still has my total love and devotion! lol!
