does anyone know what religion David believes? I'm a christian, so i was just wondering. and someone talked about him going to church camp...

He is mormon...just about everyone in Utah is mormon too. ; )

there is a somewhat difference. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Christians believe in God, and Mormons believe in the book of mormon, (another testament of Jesus Christ) Mormons also believe in God so it is like Christians... so it is the same but it's not? I'm not sure about all the Christian beliefs exactly though... It confuses me too. I'm Mormon though, but The better term is LDS, latter day saint of the church of jesus christ.

Mormons are Christians. To be Christian means you believe in Jesus Christ, which we do (me being a Mormon).

The Mormon faith believes in the same biblical God of Abraham, but they do not acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God, believing that he was a great prophet only. This is no way shape or form should effect our opinion of David as a person. He is a good person with such incredible talent. Go Dave!

We believe INDEFINITELY that Jesus is the Son of God.
The only way that we see Him differently is that we believe that God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit are three separate individuals.

Okay, could somebody please tell me where exactly you heard he was a Mormon? Because I always thought he was Catholic. Just because somebody's from Utah doesn't necessarily mean they're Mormon. Am I not right?

David IS mormon.
and just to clarify- the official name is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints.
so Jesus Christ being in the name is a dead giveaway that we're christians :)
and i know he's mormon because i went to a church camp called Especially For Youth (EFY) and he was there, too. You can look up his performance that he did at the Variety Show on Youtube.com, just type in David Archuleta- Angels. it's the one with the blue background.
And also, my cousin is in the same area as him and she went to the same church activities as him all the time.
All of Utah isn't mormon, though a lot of the people are there because it is the headquarters of our church. The place that all the original members went when they were kicked out of everywhere else because of Religious Intolerance. So many Mormon people live there because their ancestors and families have resided there ever since.
My mom was born and raised in Utah, just as everyone else was in her family ever since the original pioneers arrived. I was born there too :) but my dad was born in the Philippines and raised in Japan and he didn't join the church til he was 21.

thanks soooo much to all of you. i got a great understanding of his religion now. and am a happy girl. im a christian and i like religions that share the same beliefs. even if david had a not-so-good religion (to me) it would NEVER make me love him less. i may be a christian, and my dad may be a pastor, but (unlike my dad) i dont judge people, no matter what, people are who they are.

lol I'm a Christian too. And if you ask me, David belongs in the choir of angels when he gets to heaven, which I pray in my heart he does :) either way, GO DAVID! :D
