Being outside America sucks if you have ODD, and Having figured out how we (outside the US) can actually vote for David, I hope you guys can show your support by voting for David, even if you're outside the US. This is in an effort to keep him on top, and to prove wrong all the news on David's numbers going down bla bla bla.

We have had quite some shockers this season, Johns and Smithson to name a few. The former was one of the strongest contenders, never having been in the B3 til this week. This confirms NOBODY is really safe.

That is why we have to VOTE VOTE VOTE VOTE like crazy every Tuesday (or Wednesday for Asians)

Archangelxxx and Razarchuleta have posted thhat they have successfully voted thru their cellphones.
They are on prepaid/top-up plans, and have tried calling to vote. After each call, they kept checking their balance/credits which have remained untouched. As a conclusion, calling +1866 numbers are free.
NOTE: If you want to be sure, do the same test. Call once, and check your credits.

UPDATE(5/05/08):
Please follow these steps:

25 Votes at Once.
1. Once you open Gizmo, there will be a prompt for an update. Download the new version so that it will allow you to send up to 25 votes for Archie at once!
2. Once the software is updated, go to the Contact tab and right click on Idol Voting.
3. Click on Start Chat and then type in the number 1.
4. You will see a list of contestant’s numbers. Choose Archie’s.
5. It will begin to register your 25 votes.
6. It is important to keep your email open during this entire process. After about 8-10 minutes, you will be notified that your 25 votes have been cast and that you can do it again. (Therefore, it is not a powerdialer! Votes are cast individually by the Gizmo Team)
7. While waiting for the email confirmations, continue using gizmo and vote manually (dial tab) or text, or calling.

Please bear in mind that it would take 8-10 minutes for the 25votes to be cast, so its not powerdialling. Also, it should only take 10-20 seconds to complete the steps above, that's not much time eaten if in case they do get thrown out. What's important is while waiting for the confirmation, continue voting the regular gizmo way.

Voting for David thru Gizmo is FREE. How many times do i have to say that. 1866 numbers are under tollfree/servicenumbers, just like 1800 numbers. The reason Ryan says "Remember, these are 1866 not 1800 numbers" is basically just to inform you they're not 1800 numbers. BUT STILL THEY'RE FREE. SO vote like crazy. :)

Yes, it works. We all got the THANK YOU voice prompt after voting within the right time block. If you vote outside the voting time block, you'll get a busy signal. Here's more proof. I'm from Asia and I have NO CREDITS whatsoever in my gizmo wallet, so yes its free. Ive been voting for 3 weeks now. Here's my call log from last week's voting.



If you're all skeptical, you can try it yourself. If you already have it on your computer, try dialing David's number last week, You should be getting a busy signal since the lines are closed. When you vote on Tues/Wed, you'll get the THANK YOU prompt instead. If you're not too sure, ask your older sibling's help or your folk's.

Installing and Using GIZMO

1) To install Gizmo – go to http://gizmo5.com/pc/ - on the bottom right side of the page, click the DOWNLOAD NOW tab.

2) In the section FOR THE COMPUTER, choose the appropriate version you want to download. When you are done, the window will pop and tell you if you want to tun the program.

3) Click on SAVE THE PROGRAM or RUN and it will start downloading.

4) In the setup wizard, you will have to ACCEPT THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS and FINISH.

5) Then you have to choose a USERNAME AND PASSWORD, do so. It will also ask you if you want to find friends that are using GIZMO, skip this part if you don’t need it and in the next window, click FINISH. (you can make a test call to be sure that you installed in properly)

AFTER THE SHOW TUESDAY NIGHT

A new window opens for the call. The duration shows the connect time. When

• If after 4 rings you don’t get through, hang up and call again.

That's a great idea! But I'm not sure if it would work. I'll be in trouble if we have to pay for voting outside US when it's kinda free for people living in the US to vote. :)

sorry i think this isnt fair. i would say it for any contestant. thats breaking the rules and imagine the scandal if this happened!! and how it would reflect on david and his fans. bad idea.

haha, my dear, you got it all wrong.

It is more expensive for us, and we are paying MORE to vote for David. That's fair play, imho.

I vote for David using LONG DISTANCE, and you don't want to know how much i pay for just to vote for David, because the phone rates are high here. That's more than FAIR considering those who vote in the US actually pay lesser to vote.

As for using SKYPE and YAHOO messenger, there are RATES, 1cent/min for yahoo, to make calls to the US (like David's number). So to vote, we will need to purchase credits from YAHOO, with 10$ as minimum, that's 400P here, almost double the daily minimum wage rate. but since calls to vote for David will be more or less 1cent/minute, that'll be around 40Cents per minute for us.

As for Gizmo, they offer +1866/+1800 numbers for free (for now), and it's not even a hack. It's a built in FEATURE. We're just using it to our advantage.

Plus, we just call in during your voting hours there so we are able to get through, since phone lines will close at other hours.

I hope you understand how this isnt anywhere near a scandal.

no, voting is for AMERICA only. would you like it if australia voted for michael johns. or other countries voted for him or say carly? i bet you wouldnt. its not fair to the other contestants. doesnt matter if you are paying thats not the point at all. if we do it for david then all the other contestants should be on equal ground. sorry. david can win on his own with votes from america. its cheating otherwise.

Hi, yeah, here are your options:

1. Thru your landline, if your NDD/IDD is open, you can just dial the +1866 number. But this would have a longdistance charge. Check with PLDT/Bayantel for their rates ;)

2. Thru YahooMessenger. Their rates are $1Cent/minute. That's 40Cents for us.However, credits are purchased by 10$ or 20$ (400P or 800P), and i think you can purchase them via credit cards, so panahon na lambining si mommy or daddy!

3. Try downloading GIZMO5, check gizmoproject. Just google it, or i think i posted the link at the OP. Install it to your pc, laptop or mobile. You can call/vote using the +1866 numbers, and since i got a busy signal, i'm assuming it's free for +1866 numbers although it was indicated in their page that +1800 numbers are FREE.

There you go, lets bring David to the TOP until he wins the AI crown!

Hmm. Now that I think about it, I agree with you. We should be fair to the contestants and let America vote for their favourites. We can however encourage Americans to vote for David more! :)

The way i understand VOIP services like Yahoo/Skype/Gizmo, the calls are re-routed to certain voting windows, which are in the US. Technically, the calls are just like coming from America too. There are also voters who vite using Skype/Gizmo, so i don't see why there should be any discrepancy as to geographical locations basis.
Honestly, i don't know how this can be cheating. I haven't also heard Ryan prohibit calls from Abroad. So idk really.
Tell you what, to be FAIR, i will send an EMAIL to idol/fox and inquire about this. Will that put you to peace?

Anyway, in jurisprudence, there has been this maxim "What the law does not prohibit, it allows", which still holds true.
That being said, absent any express prohibition, i don't see this as breaking the rules.imho.

I live in England so we don't get to see the shows until Thursday or Friday (which is after the voting has ended). Does anyone please know how we can vote? I would love to give David my support. He is amazing and MUST win this competition.He deserves it so much.
